  • And the winner is...*drumroll*

This weekend was crazy fun!!  Saturday morning we left at five am [meaning a wakeup time of 3am for me] to go to a piano contest.  We drove for four hours till we finally got there.  So I warmed up and then went to play my first song...

...I absolutely bombed it.  I kept hitting the complete wrong notes and I had to restart the ending.  My main problem is this is a fast little piece.  I often start it too fast and that's what I did at the contest.  I decided 'oh well, it's the other piece I'm really counting on to win'.  An hour later I had played my other piece and It. Went. FANTABULOUS!!! I was absolutely pumped.  I was really excited about this one.  I figured I probably could win because I played so good, but it also is an easier piece compared to others in the category...

...We waited and waited and waited.  *finally* the judge's results came for my second piece.  I looked and I got an Outstanding.

Quick Note: grading is Outstanding    Superior   and   Pretty Good.  The winners are chosen from all of the Outstandings so think of it as a Honorable Mention.

Not bad, but it wasn't winning.  I figured I was done for the day.  I waited to grab the sheet for my other song because I didn't want my teacher reading it.  We figured they had probably made a new category entitled Quit Piano!!  I went up to get my sheet and I noticed my certificate, on top with the All State Winner circled!!!  My first thought was WTF!?  My teacher came up and she screamed!!!  I got a pretty plaque [my third ever], a chance to play in the recital, aaaand two hundred dollars.  Yes, I said that $200!!  The most I've ever won for *anything*!!...

...Now everyone wants to know what I will spend it on.  Honestly I don't spend a lot of money so some of it will probably go to Cd's, then later school and camp.

Currently: All That Is Within Me (Deluxe)
    - Goodbye Ordinary
