To anime or not to anime...
Every Saturday our library has programs. Next week they are closed and the weekend after that they are having anime. They are showing Deathnote the live action version. Normally I wouldn't go to an anime meeting because
1. Everyday when I get to work the anime section is a bleepin mess that I have to rearrange. That frustrates me and I get my anime fix just from that.
2. Comics frustrate me because I don't understand pictures at a first glance. Captions are essential for me to understand them. So watching movies result in me asking fifty times 'What is she holding?', 'What did she see?' etc...Anime is comic books so trying to read them is frustrating.
So, here we have Deathnote playing. Personally the thought of going and watching anime turns me off but it's live action and my two best friends want me to come. I'm seriously considering it...
What do you think of comic books? Anime?

I've never been a big fan of comic books or anime. Though I have enjoyed quite a few graphic novel.
@Pieces_of_a_Melody - What is the difference between anime and graphic novels?
@Mac_Libureet - Graphic novels aren't always anime. Like this is one of my favorite graphic novels. Definitely NOT anime. lol

@Pieces_of_a_Melody - Oh ok!!!! I just remembered that anime in book form is known as manga so I've been mislabeling it this whole time, haha!!!
anime yes, manga...comic books NO, overpriced game/trading cards, YES
I was gifted a viewing of "Samurai 7" recently and was please- while it follows kurosawa's 7 samurai, it differences due to being a 26 episode double series versus a film were prounounced. It was funny how the old characters and some funny moments truly mimicked the screen...but slightly bothersome to notice other elements were deliberately different.
mangas like iron wok Jan are somewhat fun- but like all comic books choppy to me. I don't fill in the gaps with my imagination thus they're fairly short pieces to me.
but overpriced trading cards/game thingums? oh lord have I spent a pile on Magic the gathering over the years just to gift my friend the chance to dispose of it if he wasn't going to use them- but if he made money, cut me in.... nope sold it all and only after years later would he admit when he was a turnip that he turned a profit all right...
personally, you're better off ogoing as those outtins sometimes lead to important moments either their or inbetween....maybe you'll find a million bucks lying around or the next great american novel.
@Uncious - I'm not buying any anime or stuff...just a free movie!!!
I say do it. What if it turns out you really like it?
Since saturday was yesterday this is for next time. You should go to have fun with friends.
I like anime and manga and I would never leave the section a mess.
@legolas199354 - I'll prolly end up going and liking it...I may never admit it tho!! lol
@fugu62 - Actually this program is on the 11th of July!! so i will go!! whats your favorite anime and thank you for being so considerate and not leaving the section a mess!!!
@Mac_Libureet - Haha, you prolly will. It's not actiony, really, it's all mind games.
ryc: ha, I WISH. show me how. do it. plz?
@ImperialDoctrinesOfTheNewWorld - Oh-kayee...
@TheBigShowAtUD - Okay, I am going to be upfront about this ryc thing...I'm not good at using it and I'm not sure what you are talking about because I commented on your blog several days ago. So either explain or use the little reply button on the blog I commented on.
@Mac_Libureet - Yep!!! At least you're giving it a try.
OR you could go back and look at it. tsk. but, for your convenience, and because it's a national holiday, i was responding to: "You could make big bucks off of writing this stuff!!"
see? tell me how. go.
@TheBigShowAtUD - Change your name to either Chuck Norris, Walter Kronkite, or Angelina Jolie then go to the Today show's website and submit your material. When they find out your identity you probably should have major plastic surgery so they believe your new identity. Also capture your celebrity of name so that there aren't any suspicious double citings...With that I think you are good to go!!
plastic surgery? you mean you don't like my face?! ::epic sad::
